Helping to establish this charity brand that supports three different hospital sites in north London.

The Royal Free Charity is a well-established charity supporting three hospital sites, including the renowned Royal Free in north London. Over a long relationship with the marketing and fundraising team, we have supported brand development, positioning, and communications across a wide range of audiences – from internal stakeholders and peers to patients and local communities. Our work has spanned website development, annual reporting, a quarterly newsletter, programme development, shop launch, and volunteer communications, with a strong and engaged partnership at the heart of every success.

Brand development

Over a long relationship with the charity we have supported with brand and positioning development.

We worked with the Charity to help develop a clear positioning strapline ‘Making today feel better’ which would rally the staff, volunteers and fundraisers behind a single remit which could apply to all equally.

Website

The Royal Free Charity needed to reach a digital audience through a solid and responsive website to continue its fundraising work. We designed, planned and built the website for them to be able to take donations, explain their purpose, promote their activities and grow their network. We continued to develop the website as needs arose and ensure that it was fit for modern browsers.

Reporting

Reporting on the charity's purpose and its activities is key to transparency and to leveraging more support through partner relationships, legacy givers and governmental stakeholders. We have designed and produced the annual report and impact statements for many years and the 5-year strategy report. 

Patient communications

The charity is very active in its engagement with the patient community at the hospitals. We supported with redesign of the flagging newsletter, various programmes including Live Music and Radio, and the patient handbook.

Volunteer programme

The charity's volunteer community is key to its support of the patients. We developed a distinct look and feel for the volunteer tools and campaigns to recruit more volunteers.

Fundraising

As with most charities, the Royal Free Charity also seeks to gather financial support through events and activities, legacy givers and regular donations. We have supported with design of the fundraising pack, multiple campaigns and a suite of literature to highlight how they can be supported.
